Starting in March, all PTHA patients shall be screened for the availability of other sources of money. These resources include private health insurance, Medicare, military veteran, worker’s compensation, motor vehicle, crime victim, and various programs administered by DSHS, including Medicaid.
How does this help improve services for PTHA?
With limited funding from IHS in comparison to the health and wellness needs of Native Americans, PTHA needs to seek out other ways to continue providing vital health care services to our eligible patients. PTHA’s revenues may be supplemented by accessing our patients’ third-party resources. By accessing these resources, PTHA can supplement current funding and thereby expand patient access to services and improve the quality of services provided.
How does this affect PTHA patients?
Starting this month, All PTHA patients will be screened prior to receiving services to determine if there are any third-party resources that may help fund their treatment. Any such resources available to the patient will be accessed as a condition to the patient receiving a PTHA service.
